My name is Gabe Devine. I am a proud First Nations man, and disability advocate living in Southern Brisbane, studying Political Science and Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Studies as the University of Queensland. Through my work as the former YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament Youth Member for Inala, as well as other various volunteering roles within politics and advocacy, I have grown a strong desire to improve the lives of those around me, particularly in First Nations community. I’ve had the privilege to advance Truth-Telling through the passing of the Truth Telling and Cultural Appreciation in Education Youth Act 2023 as well as the First Nations Repatriation Youth Act 2024. I am so very passionate about uplifting my community, closing the gap and delivering positive change to empower our young people.

Our People
Hey, I’m Lucas Lu. I’m a non-Indigenous male currently attending high school. In addition to my involvement with my school’s Student Reconciliation Action Group, I served with Gabe as the Youth Member for South Brisbane in the ATSIP (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships) committee, where we designed a Youth Bill dealing with cultural repatriation. We consulted 20+ experts in the field of public policy and repatriation and worked for over 5 months together on that project. I was also a doorknocker for my state MP this past election. In my capacity as a non-Indigenous individual I recognise that I will sometimes make mistakes. If there are any thoughts or recommendations you have on the website, feel free to contact me at:
